Colonization is about power and control. The way the educational system is taught is different then reality of how minority kids are raised. It's done with the intent to control the population and restrict individuals from expressing themselves culturally. This can be damaging because learning styles differ cross culturally. Minority students self esteem and learning performance is impaired when colonial education is pushed. Dr. Mullings raised some good points.

You know, when I studied the social sciences in college, the experience greatly helped me because we studied various social theories from different schools of thought, and I realized that the ideology you adopt shapes the way you view the world. It was an incredibly freeing experience. Post-colonialism is just that - a lens through which you view the world, but these folks make it sound like it's the Truth. Being blind to your indoctrination into post-modern worldview is quite sad.

The colonization education system is not structured or scheduled for your ability only based on your status. The name classroom

Let me note that while this concept is potentially liboratory, there are significant issues for those of us who are held suspect in the academy. Given that this pedagogy is different from the norm, those of us who are already scrutinized and judged as incompetent are further marginalized, but that is another TEDx talk.

She complains about "colonized" classrooms, where the teacher stands at the front of the class speaking while she stands at the front of the class speaking.

Colonization has nothing to do with the way teaching was conducted. The same methods were used to teach children of the colonizers as was used to teach the children of the colonized. This is not an issue race, it is an issue of what are the best and most effective teaching methods.

Ummmm "transform" literally means "change." lol

Being woke is a joke. What does teaching have to do with colonization?
