The Christmas Truce, and the events that are the subjects of No Bullets Fly, The Last Battle, and Hearts of Iron (the Sabaton song, not the games) show that the human element isn't always entirely lost even in the worst of wars. And it's just sad to see that around all that, the fighting all too often just goes on.
