CMOS Checksum Error even after replace with new battery - Hardware Level Fix

One of my motherboard suddenly can't save the date and save bios setting, even after i replace with the new battery.
There's many possibilities can be the culprit.
This is how i fix this motherboard.

thank you, will try this on my old Toshiba laptop, gets bad checksum (CMOS) and unable to press F1 to continue. Have replaced the battery already, twice.

Where should I put the negative probe. Where is the ground located on the motherboard?

I tried a new battery but it also drops one volt per day. After three or four days the battery goes down completely. Why is that?

I have msi z87i motherboard .
It doestnt start unless i reset bios.it only hapens when power plug is off for 20 minutes.but if the power plug is on and i shut down pc it turns on ok.
I updated bios and changed battery but still same problem.i have to reset bios each time to start.plz help
