This song has so many emotions.
Anger, sadness, guilt.

the creators of this song hit the mark perfectly striking fear into the listeners with tones similar to sirens and low high pitch notes. i hope this song doesn't die.
no clue why batman quotes are in a zombie film theme song.

"Orders were simple, shoot any infected that approaches the perimeter. It wasn't much of a problem at the first two weeks, some of the boys even considered it fun. Two guys, Daniel and Craig, decided to compete on who could pop 100 infected heads in three days. Daniel won tho, dude was an expert sharpshooter. Good for him. Four weeks later they (the infected) started showing up in groups, of course we managed to deal with them no problem, but then more groups would show up. We started calling this phenomenon 'the horde'. Three weeks later we had to install multiple turrets and reinforced the fence. They (the infected) were showing up in waves now. I overheard one of the higher ups discussing on whether or not they should deploy tanks and APCs, they decided not to since carrying hard equipment from the mainland would've been too much of the hassle. What an utterly stupid decision. 12 weeks later was an absolute nightmare, they (the infected) started showing odd features on their bodies, claws, tendrils, extra limbs. The researchers based on site theorized that the virus was now mutating their hosts. At this point we were instructed to incinerate any nearby dead. This was the first time I've used a flamethrower, the weight of it made my respect for our veterans who fought in ww2 and Nam. 15 weeks later was hell on earth, we lost alot of men, even had to incinerate a few close friends I met in boot camp. But one thing I'll never forget was one corporal begging to be shot, his wish was soon granted by a sergeant. I've never seen a battle hardened soldier like that cry his eyes out as he put the kid out of his misery. 20 weeks later and I was pretty sure I was going insane. We were awoken up in the middle of the night by the sirens, that could only mean one thing. The site was now being breached. We grab our rifles and hurry outside to see absolute mayhem, soldiers being ripped to shreds, researchers and volunteers having no experience in weapon handling accidentally shooting one of their own. I lost count of how many men we lost, we were low on ammunition and had to retreat to the rooftop. It was sunset when incendiary bombs and miniguns finally repelled the infected. 28 weeks later we were finally going home, nobody spoked when we boarded the plane, no celebration, nothing."

"in the house, in a heartbeat" is one of my favorite scores ever. Amazing in both 28 days/weeks later. It's in kickass also, when showing big daddy's footage.

What is war? This was the question I heard from my 7 year old son. โ€œSon, โ€ I said, โ€œnever ask yourself this question.โ€ I realized what kind of hell I had been through, piles of disgustingly rotten corpses, rivers of tears, blood and gore, and somewhere far away in the wall of broken years, only to me could hear the voices of children...their laughter that would never be heard again in this godforsaken place. This is a letter from a Russian Federation military officer from a combat zone. I cried when I read it for the first time

this is like the opening to some type of Post Apocalyptic series, the idea of war and destruction fit so well with the songs vibe, the idea of being alone in a entirely new world filled with horrors and human hate, where the hope of everyone is relied onto one traveler, one nobody, one myth.
