When my daughter told me she wasn’t going to college, it broke my heart. I tried to change her mind many times. She went to cosmetology school while still in high school and that’s the path she decided to continue pursuing after high school.

She doesn’t even do hair. She specializes in acrylic/gelX nails and eyelash extensions. You wouldn’t believe what women pay for nails and lashes!

After 3 years of working for two different salons and having to give the owners 50% of every appointment, she just signed a lease on commercial space to start her own salon and she paid cash to furnish it.

She’s killing it, making a ton of money plus cash tips. I am SO glad she didn’t listen to me about college. She taught me something very important- college is NOT for everyone. She’s so successful already and she doesn’t have any student loans.

I have a 2 year degree from a technical college that cost me about $8k. After 2 years in my career I averaged $130k a year. Been here 15 years now and no regrets.

My daughter owes $60, 000 in student loans for a Masters degree in a field which is very over crowded. She was told by the college there would be no problem getting a job. It was clearly a lie. I agree colleges today are a scam. She also went from being a conservative to a flaming liberal, - we can barely have a conversation without an argument. Very disheartening.

I have a bachelors degree in kinesiology and the almost every job started at 12 to 15 a hour so I went to welding school and then became a ironworker and started at 19 hr. And no get paid between 35-50 hr and can travel the country whenever I want. I also have a great pride in building America. Thank you Mr. Kirk for respecting what we do

I'm a highschool graduate no college. I worked as a package handler part time and volunteered in recovery and disaster relief construction and Christian ministry. For the last 15 years I've worked for a Fortune 500 company. I started in a Warehouse as a material handler, I'm now a Project Manager in a position that requires a BS degree, but because I work hard and take pride in what I do I was able to move up the ladder into a corporate position. I'm out of debt I have a family and we live simply but happily so my wife can be a Stay At home Mom.

If a 15 year old girl who weighs 110lbs. looks in the mirror and sees herself as 200lbs and overweight do we agree with her that her perception is her true self and encourage her to embrace herself and lose more weight, or do we send her to therapy and get her counseling?
Why does such a large portion of our society treat gender dysmorphia differently than body dysmorphia?
