The Linux Community on cars:
- Linux Mint - a car you can get into and drive. Don't have to understand how car works.
- Gentoo - a car you can drive with a lot of options for modding and performance tuning. Need to know a lot about how a car works.
- Arch - a car you can build from a kit using a donor vehicle and lots of trips to the junk yard. Need to know a lot about car internals and welding, machining, etc.

I cannot relate to this view about Windows and stability. It feels like I was forced into Linux due to the instability of Windows post 7. Even my most recent foray where I installed, updated and ran a single game in Steam (Trials) and I ran into crippling instability in under 2 weeks flat. Never in 3 years have I encountered these problems that I cannot easily correct in Linux that I find every time I install Windows.

I remember when Vista started being installed on new computers. People were asking me to downgrade them to XP :)
