Here's a quick video showing some of the EDC / Tactical folders in my collection, and how it boils down to my favorite 3 primary EDC blades. Two will be obvious if you've been watching the channel. One may surprise you...

That's a great question, buddy! The answer is a pretty simple formula with 3 components. 1) Use your knives as knives, screwdrivers as screwdrivers and pry bars as pry bars. 2) When you damage a tool, fix it, i.e. re-grind, re-tip, re-sharpen, sand scales and polish when needed. 3) Have enough knives so that no one of them gets undue wear or becomes damaged by using the wrong tool for the job. All that said, some knives that have aspects that are easily damaged get pretty light, careful use.

Hey Rob! Great video. Happy to see the Recon 1 made an appearance! Love mine a lot, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Thank you so much for this in depth reply. I will be purchasing a large Sebenza 21 based on these points. Kinda similar, I recently purchased a Emerson Super CQC8 and had the choice between the old standard model or the new one with the milled handle and thicker ss liner. I chose the old one because when gripping the new one tight I was squeezing against the liner lock a little to much at the front milled finger choil for my comfort level. It s not a problem on the old thick G10 non milled out version. I asked my knife dealer if he d ever had a return on the thinner liner older model ( not one for anything to do with the liner ). Sometimes there s nothing wrong with tried and true in my opinion. Great knife, the wave feature is addictive. May soon replace my Spyderco Military as my bigger EDC folder. Such knife carrying choices are hard 8-)).

7 years later. My time flys. I’d bet the 940 would be the only one still in the top 3.

Can't wait! BTW, the Adamas wasn't on that shelf because it lives on my Fatboy Versipack :)

Interesting video! I knew you would have the 940 and the PM2 in there but the Lionsteel was a surprise!

The Bradly gets major respect, and I might regard it as an as good or better knife than one or more of these 3, but as an EDC blade that I just naturally grab in the morning because I love to carry and use it, it just doesn't make this group. Mr. Bradley himself has said he didn't design this knife to be a joy to open and close (and it isn't), but as a pure cutting tool (it definitely is).

I like the top three. You'll have to really give a run down on the Sebenza. I'm just not sold on them yet. I think I'm going with the Entrek Strike Point.

It has been a bit of a surprise. It carries much better than it looks like it would, and the annodized finish is much more durable than any other aluminum handled knife I've owned. I am pretty careful about what's in the bottom of that pocket when I'm carrying it though. I just can't leave it on the shelf -- it's such a wicked cutter!

Hey Rob! Thanks for giving us a look at your collection! Some real beauties there! Do you now or have you ever owned a CRK Sebenza? I had a chance to "fondle" one at SMKW a few weeks ago. It was very nice, but I must say that - no, the heavens did not open and the choirs of angels did not sing for me.

My top three EDC knives are pretty similar to yours. 1. Benchmade 940BK 2. Spyderco Para2 in Digi and Black, 3. Benchmade 710.

Good eye, my friend :). The Adamas has taken up residence in its sheath, attached to my Maxpedition Versipack EDC pack. It adds a little weight, but it's nice to have handy :)
