I’m so glad I found you. I have been reading nutrition labels for myself ever since I had a mini stoke a couple of years ago. Now I do it for my dogs also. No more kibble for them, not that they liked it anyway. One of my dogs, a Yorkiepoo, is 13. I learned from you and BKpets what is important for the health of my dogs. I’ve tried a bunch of different foods, the “best” I can afford. Recently I happened upon Yumwoof dog food. They name the meats and other ingredients in their food. No synthetic supplements. Also, the ingredient list is really short. It seems the nutrition comes from real food, like blueberries, turmeric, etc. We shall see. Thank you for your videos and the information you put out there.

Thank you Dr Judy. I wish my vet would be more open with fresh food diet and stop pushing prescription food and meds 😕

Funny story: my husband gave the dogs homemade picadillo that had started to turn in the fridge. It’s ground beef with potatoes. I was really nervous they might have a reaction but not the slightest issue with their stomachs. Another time, I ran out of homemade and couldn’t make more because I was sick with Covid. I have good kibble for emergencies. The elderly rescue poodle started drinking a ton, got bloated, and was having accidents all over the house. Which was worse?

I need some advice. My two year old cat has decided she doesn’t want to eat her food the last two days. She may take a bite or two and then walks away. She’s been on totally raw for almost a year. Since it’s raw I don’t leave it sitting out for long. She is acting fine running around the house, drinking water and pooping fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I really don’t want to take her to the vets if I can help it.

Actually, the disclaimer at the end saying that Dr. Judy does not endorse any advice given here is silly.

Dr. Judy….I need your help. My cats and dog have been on a raw diet for 1 1/2 yrs. I have a new rescue cat (about a yr old). My issue is she is always hungry! She is very vocal and will follow me around for an hour or more just meowing. If I get any human food out shes right up on the counter trying to get it. My other cats will eat a little and walk away and shes right there eating their food. This goes on every day at meal time. Should I give her more food? They all get fed twice a day and occasional treats. I was giving my dog too much raw food and she put on like 6 lbs in seven months. She’s finally starting to slim down. Please advise me on this problem.

Nobody needs a "calculator/diet-formulator" to add some fresh foods into the dog bowl. Seriously.
