I've been making homemade dog food since February 2020 and it is now much improved since watching your videos. I was adding chicken liver and heart, but I was very uncomfortable adding it because it wasn't organic so I stopped. This is what I currently add to my pup loaf... 3 pounds organic ground turkey, 6 pounds organic grass fed hamburger, 1 cup wild or organic blueberries, 1 cup organic spinach, 1 cup organic broccoli, 1 cup organic butternut squash, 1 can organic pumpkin, 3 cans sardines in water with no added salt, 3 tsp seaweed calcium, 3 tbsp of organic greens powder, 2 tbsp organic turmeric powder, 6-8 organic pasture raised eggs, and 3 tbsp organic flaxseed oil. They also get a vitamin.

so glad there are people on Dr Judy's page who can understand how important it is to create a clean environment for our pets. Feeding them a raw and gently cooked foods. We have total control over our pets diets

Thank you very much for this great video. I have been giving my dogs VIVA Raw because Dr. Morgan is on their website recommending their raw pet food. So far, I am very happy with the healthy results of my dogs from eating VIVA Raw dog food. I had two Golden Retrievers who both died from cancer at the early age of 8 years old! They were both on high end kibble. I WILL NEVER FEED MY DOGS KIBBLE EVER AGAIN!

I’ve been feeding Raw to my dogs and cats for a little over 20 years now. Highly recommend it. I’ve done everything from premade to full DIY and a combination of both. People don’t realize that it is possible to feed a good raw diet for the same amount of money that you’re paying for that crappy kibble.

Do you have a hard copy list of the recommended products and the ones to avoid? Other then the blog which is good as well.

Fortunately, my doggy day care allows me to bring in my dog's cooked pup loaf meals, which have to be refrigerated. I also have them add warm water mixed with dried goat's milk before serving.

They sell raw dog food products, so many of their clients' dogs eat raw... for boarding, they have to prepare for that with refrigeration and washing the dishes (or using paper plates). I feel so lucky my dog's day care can accomodate him!

I appreciate your educational content so much. I made a comment on another of your videos that was deleted because it stated that I had changed my dogs to a PPP product and they seemed to be doing fine. No worries. I understand, perhaps, why it was deleted. But here is the truth of my food journey with my four dogs (3 Catahoula Leopard Dog mixes and 1 very senior Aussie), I am now making the majority of their well-balanced natural foods with only a small amount of dry kibble in the mix. With a lot of research along with your educational videos about how to understand pet food labels, I did change their dry food to a much healthier brand than the PPP because they were suddenly acting as if they were unwell...not their usual perky selves. It is a 60/40 ratio of real meat (no meat meals and all meats are identified) to veggies, fruits, traditional grains (no corn. no soy) and is low-carb. Too, vitamins and minerals are not synthetic. So I am here to offer thanks to you, and to other advocates I follow, who are working to fight against the detriments of too many brands of unhealthy, mass-produced pet foods. I am grateful for what I have learned by taking time in the mornings with my coffee to learn, and then to put what I learned into action for my four beautiful best friends.

I am so grateful for you, Dr. Judy! I've learned so much & am very grateful for the continuing education ❤ I'm horrified by what I used to unknowingly feed my baby 😔 Expensive major brand (2 brands) $4 American/can. Now dehydrated food & meat,
I use a spoon to help feed beautiful Labby boy now since the food is a bit soupy - truly only a bit ❤🐾 Sincere thanks!!

I use a freeze dried meat food. Dr martys. I mix it with kibble and weaning her off kibble. When she was on just kibble she drank sooo much water. Now its better

Thank you so very much. It's so hard to read the labels. I learnt to take a photo of them so that I can make the letters bigger. Every time I read one of these "organic" "natural" food labels, I get sad. And the best trademark in Spain doesn't sit well in my dog's belly. I don't mind walking the city with an intestine, but she doesn't want it. Natural heart and liver soup took her to emergencies. I can't cook much, It's so tricky and I feel so silly, but thanks to vets like you it has improved and now my cat likes wet food. thank you very much

I make my dog’s food the past 2-1/2 years, I actually add 2 Tbsp of warm water to their food, everything human grade 😊

Some people advise to only add 20% raw to kibble to maintain balance. If I can afford to add more is this bad? Thank you for teaching/sharing all this info!!

Thank you for all the wonderful information. You make it easier to understand. My dog had a ear infection with both eardrums ruptured and now is on antibiotics for 21 days. I feed her grass fed beef cooked broccoli, spinach, carrots, and a little sweet potato. Coconut oil or olive oil, Also organic blueberries. and Ground Organic flax seed. Some sardines with no salt in the water.
I’m guessing the beef is not good for her anymore so I’m going to try grass fed lamb for awhile. Need to add organ meats but not sure what animal I should use. Shes 10 and I’ll do anything to help her.
Any suggestions?

As you're a DVM that now heavily promotes raw foods, I've watched all of your videos and those with Dr Rachel Fusaro, which has helped and educated me so much with my raw fed dog, which I so truly appreciate so much. While you were practicing, did you promote kibble brands? I'm genuinely curious if you recieved the offers of kickbacks back in the day from these kibbles companies?

If I am feeding your heart diet recipe, do I need to supplement, or is it balanced without any supplements?

I heard fresh mushrooms from the store are good for dogs. Could you confirm that or not?
