I’m an American and love to see this. Competition is good when it comes from fellow democracies. India >> China.

If India does anything that reduces World's dependence on China then the whole world should support India because it's in the world's interest. We all know that having more and more dependence on China can how much dangerous and costly for the world. It can provide the leverage to CCP and Chinese authorities to halt the global supply chain and then it'll hurt everybody.

Not just Tata, another big Indian corporation called Vedanta too had declared a joint venture with TSMC(Edit: actually Foxconn) few months ago. Chips and the Batteries are the only thing that India still lacks the capability of manufacturing and both are getting increasingly important in the current world. So, although India is late to this party, it is gonna catch up soon.

About 50℅ of the tatas profit goes to charity and it helps many poor people here in India. So, we all are satisfied to buy tata products.

AMD and Intel will definitely have their share of the market. TSMC is at max capacity and investing in other semiconductor companies will be an absolute power move. Different chips are good at different things and Nvidia has been very specialised, which leaves other aspects of Al open.

Nice, if India focuses on Chinas low-mid grade chip dominance, it’ll make the world less dependent on China and more specifically against the CCPs aggressive wolf warrior diplomacy. This ensure there will always be a reliable supply of low-mid chips on the free market as well as high end chips from Taiwan.
