i have a 1986 yz 125 i just restored and my friends on all their new 125s can’t keep up with me, one hell of a bike i do have to say

I have a 1999 yz 125 that I’m restoring now rides exactly like a 2019

The YZ125 hasn’t changed since 2005 or 2006. I have owned almost every year YZ125 and I like the 99 better than the 2019. I bet if you freshened up that 99 you would like it. The new one is lighter but it feels more rigid and the newer one doesn’t turn as well as the steel framed ones. The perfect YZ125 would be a 98 engine in a 2002-2004 chassis .

Interesting to see this comparison thing made I wouldn't think that there would be too much of a difference in between the two bikes but the new bike is definitely faster.

I have. 98 yz 125 completely restored to perfection . Unless your a pro, the bike is plenty for someone to mess around with at the track
