Before engaging any regression analysis, it is essential to have a feel of your data. That is, what are the distinctive features of each variable that make up your sample data? What information do they convey and how can you interpret them? This hands-on tutorial teaches how to run descriptive analysis in EViews10 and interpret the outcome.

YouTube recently changed the way my content will be monetised. My channel now needs 1, 000 subscribers. So it would be amazing if you show your support by both watching my videos and subscribing to my channel if you haven’t done so already. Monetising my videos allows me to invest back into the channel with some new equipment so this small gesture from you will be extremely huge for me. Many thanks for your support….CrunchEconometrix loves to teach, help me stay online 

Dear Madam, I have used log returns for my stock prices. Do you think I should use the price instead? As I am running regression on it too.

Hi i wish to understand more. Null for Jacque bera is; NOT A NORMAL DISTRIBUTION. sO if Pv > 0.05 we accept the null( we cannot reject the null) meaning mva is not a normal distribution.

Thank you as always for your great learning videos...I have a humble query. If some variables in Panel data/Time series are found to be non-normal (as in your case GDPGR & REXCH), what should we do then? Should we drop them or if they are unavoidable, how to work with them (meaning how to make them normal to carry on the analysis)? Please guide me.

If your percentage maximum and minimum values are over 100 wouldn't I supposed to log them in the descriptive analysis if thats the case?

Hi ma'am, my data is not normally distributed and jb is also less than 5%. I perform descriptive statistics test on log and other forms too but the there is no normality distribution. Since I will perform VAR model, will my model be affected because of this normality issue? Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks in advance

Do we need to do something if data is not normally distributed? Expect taking logs, because data in log also not normally distributed. Does it affect to other tests?

I'm still confused with my data's skewness value, hope you can help me. Skewness = -1.4 (is it still normal?) while Kurtosis = 2.9 this is a PLATYKURTIC right? Thanks!

I have used all the transformed data (logarithmic) in my study. How would i justify using the raw data for descriptive statistics?
