My girls do all these. That they can sense my emotions is humbling. My husband passed away last December. One day I was sitting at my desk and just started the deep sobbing that came in waves. My Great Pyrenees came up and put her huge paw on me to show she cared. I made sure my husband passed at home and that they saw, smelled him and anything else they needed before he was taken out. They have been my source of comfort in this last year. I can’t imagine coming home from work to a quiet house! I am humbled at their celebration when they hear my truck pull up and I can hear them from outside.

I was at the vet with my dog one time when an older lady came in with a chihuahua. The dog refused to eat and they were trying to get it to eat. The lady told me the dog had been a gift to her husband who was old and bitter. He did not want the chihuahua puppy at first but soon bonded to where he took the little dog everywhere with him and became much happier about life. Well, the old man had recently died and that was when the little dog started refusing food. It was very touching because if there is such thing as a dog with a sad face, this dog had it. So sad and yet inspiring at the same time.

We recently adopted a dog from the pound and he doesn't like any men besides myself, he loves me. Unfortunately I fear a man abused him. He lays down and he shows his tummy and chest and he licks us a lot. He's absolutely perfect to me. I'm a really calm person so he is too when he is with me. He has a warm house and food and he has us now.

I had to put my bloodhound down he was 12 and couldn’t get up anymore it was the saddest day of my life I still miss him, I got a rescue puppy no one wanted, they said they found 6 puppies with the mother that froze to death and the one I got 2 people brought it back for some reason so I took him, don’t know what kind of dog it is but he’s a great little guy, 1 year old now, I can’t do or go anywhere without him
