DIY Metal 3D Printer #engineering #3dprinting

We've always dreamed of having a metal 3D printer, so like all our other projects, we turned our dream into a design and built it. We're so excited to share that we have successfully created our own design for a DIY metal 3D printer. This is a quick teaser, but the full video is coming out soon so be sure to subscribe! We've used INJEKTO, our desktop injection molding machine with plastic 3D printed molds, but we're now taking it to a whole new level with metal 3D printed molds.

INJEKTO's setup is super easy, and using the machine is even easier. We're excited to see what we can make next with our metal 3D printer and injection molding combo. Stay tuned as we'll be posting more creations using metal 3D printed, aluminum and steel molds.

all ima say is the metal powder is so fine and has such a high surface area that it can explode like a grain silo but far more violent

A company making dies to inject plastic figures of the military battle hobby. They make mixed copper and stainless steel powders to get more wear resistant dies. They fused the power the same way you do.

I like the design. But how small can it print before the letters and/or numbers become illegible? I ask this because as someone who likes to 3D print, I have quite a bit of experience. I use a 8K MSLA these days because it can get letters and still be legible.

Typicaly you need to have a protective atmosphere when laser welding powder metal. Like you see on all commercial machines
