I'd didn't mind the whole app thing at all. I didn't mind the visible bias for some brands.
But 22 years ago my sister barely escaped death when she got hit by a car close to school, who was going 80kmph in a 30kmph zone. It took her 3 years to walk again.
Some people say the backlash is overblown, and maybe it is, but for me personally this is the point where I'm unsubscribing.

Wow. I cannot believe this. I remember a time when Marques Brownlee said he would never make a fully sponsored video. Now here it is, an entire 9 minute video that is just a sponsor.

It was illegal. You can just admit you did something wrong and apologize in that comment section and spread awareness about reckless driving. Or, I guess as you chose, just word it so it sound like you did nothing and hope the Twitter apology was enough.

Edit: He linked to the Twitter apology and removed the vague comment I was referencing that just said he "removed the unnecessary driving part." I'm glad he changed his wording to take more accountability.

Marques doesn't seem to realise that his single greatest asset is that people perceive him as always being "real". Doing sponsored videos like this completely undermines that.

Cutting that part of the video out after everyone already saw it because he failed to properly cover it up in the original cut of the video is just insane.

- Do a fully sponsored ad, I mean video
- Commit a felony
- Cut out the felony part
- Try to sweep it under the rug because "it added nothing to the video"
