Big tyres, +40kg, bad aerodynamics but on an E-Bike...How much slower are we? - Wind Tunnel

Chanel and I welcomed a new baby into the world just before the weekend, so I thought this would be the best video to post today it's the final 'Fun' test before we start getting into some real nitty gritty. Simply ascertaining just how much longer it would've taken Juliette and I to complete the National TT Champs of GB in 2022 than on a full TT setup. Of course we'll have to go back to see what happens with 2....

My Maths was a little wrong in the middle of the vlog which I'm gutted about so I hope you read this, The true CDA readings of my Optimised TT position were 0.203 and for the Upright Town bike position was 0.6. My maths on the time differences for Nationals based solely on aerodynamics is accurate(-ish ) though., Thanks for watching!

Congratulations on the new baby! We had a Trailangel that attached our daughter's bike to one of ours so she could put some power down, she'd tuck over the bars and shout 'Rascal Boost!' when she was going to put in a big effort 😄

Back in the day, a chap used to come out on winter club runs with a huge bike seat on the back of his bike (no child though). Was flying and winning races come March. Might have been method in his madness. Or, he only had one bike other than his race bike.

any mechanical system with the toddler would likely be more hassle then its worth but if you have them peddle a generator you could use the electricity to charge the battery. probably not worth the extra weight and reduction in aerodynamic efficiency but it is an option.

Now the question is, kids ride shotgun vs backpack child, which is faster? I also estimate if I wear aero socks for the commute to work I can save nearly 1% of the time it'd take me to swap socks when I got there!
