Today, I want to share ten questions that will guide you to your perfect minimalist summer capsule wardrobe. Having a small wardrobe brings me so much joy and freedom and I want you to experience the same. but we are all different, so I don#t think there is a wardrobe formula that will work for everyone. Therefore I am asking questions instead of giving tips so that you can find the answer yourself.

The off white garments look very elegant on you. My main concern is that with 4 kids and pets and doing a lot of gardening and DIY (for starters) I daren't wear pale colours in case of marks and stains (and the hassle of washing carefully) and I always need at least one set of 'messy' clothes for working in. But often I forget to change and then other clothes end up as 'messy' clothes.
My cats seem to destroy a lot of my clothes, as does paint, varnish, cement, and all the other things we tend to deal with frequently. I feel that if I have too few clothes, then I don't want to do messy things in case I mess up my 'only' clothes and then I feel inhibited. I also have various uniforms from choirs and things that I need to keep, even though I only wear them occasionally. And 'smart' items that I really dislike but need for certain occasions. And also favourite clothes that don't quite fit because I've put on weight which I hope is temporary!

1. Same climate as yours- From jeans when it's cooler to a very flowy dress when it's super hot. I try to reduce real 'hot summer ' clothes
2. Clothes I can wear everywhere. For work, in the evening, in the forest, while camping.
3. In summer I like doing hand washing and hang it up to dry. No ironing during summer 😉
4. Black, offwhite and muted warm tones (terracotta, green, camel, mustard, , ...) and one denim jeans
5. Some loose flowy clothes for when it's very hot. I love to go braless when it's very hot. But I only feel comfortable doinv it in slightly flowier, larger dresses. Natural fibres, practical cuts: for me, a midi dress seems very practical, shirts with crewneck. I like linen, it is nearly unbreakable...
Comfortable Shoes and sandals easily to walk in, because in summer I like to walk much more
6. Underwear ✅ checked this year
7. My vacation should always be camping, I love to camp to renaturalise. So no worries about clothes 😃
8. No real big special occadions but I have a blazer and heel sandals to dress up a bit
9. I have an all-year-round capsule but I focus on summer
I shoppes a bit for this summer because during my declutter I realized that summer season was the one with most impule buys from vacations but I didn't really have a work appropriate capsule.
I made a wishlist and shopped some items online.
I got to know a lovely european sustainable brand: twothirds
I love the style and the quality of the items.

Having the laundry question is so important, a minimalist wardrobe (especially for under layers). Since I find finding clothes I want to wear really hard so I will keep a more specific item which fit, I like so if the event occurred I wouldn’t need to fit something e.g. a wedding but I try and make it a item which fits multiple occasions and I only keep one. I retry them on and review if I still like them as each season changes. I am going to make my physical wardrobe size the natural limit for my stuff (and I’m not going to let it be over stuffed)

So important to be realistic! I’ve been working from home last two years and got caught up in my fantasy self. Now I go into an office more often, planning to travel and realised most of my items don’t go together 😭 I recently bought a few “basics” of my own that allowed me to make more outfit combinations and I’m really happy! Not all basics work on everyone - I look awful in button up shirts and tailored pants, so instead I picked out classics that I do enjoy wearing and now I have so many combinations that I never get bored with ☺️

Yes love these tips! For your grey tank, you could consider dyeing it with tea or something to give it a warmer greyish brown undertone if you decide you don't love the cool grey.

That's one thing that's a bit of a pet peeve of mine with ethical clothing lines is that often they're just soooo basic and only come in black, white, and grey with no pattern and only in the most basic styles. I do often wear clothes like that but still want a few pieces that are a bit different without having to DIY it. I guess that's when secondhand is a good option.

It is hard to create a minimal capsule wardrobe in regions where it can be like +10..+30°C in summer and +5..-27°C in winter 😁 I'll give it a try though 😅

Very interesting questions. Summer here is hot and humid. The heat is no bother to me, but the humidity, it’s miserable. So, I have tee shirts in cotton, in many colors, all plain crew neck. The number needed between washing depends on how dirty they get. In the summer, I sometimes change my shirt twice a day, and my nine tee shirts occasionally land in my mom’s laundry basket. The same remains true for my socks. They’re always cotton in the summer, and a dozen pairs a week can be insufficient. But they always match, so I look and feel clean. Knowing these things about myself helps so much. Better still, my tee shirts are layer pieces, year round.

Your video’s are really helping me on my minimalist sustainable journey! Thank you so much for this video. Recently I ordered some underwear from organic basics, because all my underwear was falling apart. I ordered it with your code so I hope that supports you in some kind of way 🙂
