Great, I picked good riddance for my first song. I do the full strumming pattern with my fingers for now, can’t keep up with a pick. This should help a lot!

A few other things... it's easier to play a song you know really well, then the singing is intuitive and you just have to fit the rest in. If there's a challenging strumming pattern, I just learn the down strums (you implied this with just learning the chord changes). When I get frustrated, I go back to singing songs that are just one chord per measure to build my confidence. When you suck as much as I do, you figure out all the hacks.😂
