That curve on a paper towel! Nice job. Haven't pulled my whetstones out in a couple years. Been stuck on diamonds. Makes me wanna pull them out. Miss them.

Thanks! When using different grits you want to make sure you’re giving each of them the full time needed? I think I have been going too quickly and not holding a proper angle when sharpening.

I literally just picked up one of those king dual 800 stones at a thrift store about 2 weeks ago!! I knew it was worth having at 5 buck but i had know idea they were a decent quality product you would be using!!

Nice work. I use a work sharp because i cant hold an angle. I only get a razor edge. I cant get a crazy ludacris edge like you.

How are you getting the correct angle each time by just eyeballing it?

Jared do you ever flatten yours? I sometimes use a section of sidewalk i conditioned to be flatter than normal, sometimes a sanding block with 80 grit SiC paper

so is the lower girt for creating an edge a medium grit is for getting it sharp and higher grit to make the edge smother ?

Do you need to go to 6k for that kind of edge? And why do you go from 220 to 800, then to 1k? Seems like 220 to 500 to 1k would be better. Does it not matter that much?
