Today I want to show you two EASY methods for repairing dog damage and bare spots in the lawn. I go over how to seed a bare spot and also how to take an existing plug of your lawn and move it to a bare spot for grass types that spread. Seeding is for cool season grasses like fescue and ryegrass whereas plugs works best for Kentucky Bluegrass and then warm season grasses like Bermuda, Zoysia, St. Augustine etc.

Thanks for watching! If you're interested in the tool I used to move plugs or grass seed I'm using, links are in the description. :)

You need to do a part 2 (and maybe 3) showing the repaired spots after time has passed.

Plugging grass is fun and it's satisfying to watch it spread and fill in.

I have started "pre grow" the seeds in a wheelbarrow in my garage. Fill it up with a soil/sand mix, 3 hand full "slow growing" seeds. Water it so it's moist and then cover with a piece of cloth, so the water don't evaporates. After a few days you can see the seeds starts to grow and it's time to repair. One wheelbarrow is a about 10 m²

Watching your older videos too and wow: what a difference even 2 years makes for your lawn. You’ve really grown (no pun intended) in the past years and your tips have helped me to do that same. Thanks!

Thanks for the information Ryan ! I have been watching your videos for over a year now. Last spring we decided to tackle a complete renovation of our front yard and it turned out perfect with all the information I’ve learned from you. I’m going to start my backyard renovation next week.

A tip for those who have Tall Fescue. During the fall or winter seed some tall fescue in trays to use as plugs during the spring and summer.

Love the ProPlugger, have had it for about three years and it works great for plugging. I usually pull a plug and drop it in a bucket, then place the ProPlugger back in that hole and pour a cup of rich soil/sand combo back down the tube to fill the hole where I just pulled the plug. It is also great for planting bulbs.

Thanks Ryan for sharing.
