You ever have one of those days where you wake up under a giant camera and decide to lay eggs everywhere

This fly got abducted, sedated and tricked into laying an egg before it even found out something was wrong and freaking out

When that first focus hits it’s just ✨perfection.✨ The way the light hits the eyes is just stunning and it’s super cool that you got it laying eggs on camera. I never knew about the stabilizing bit, it’s so cool how nature comes up with stuff like mastering flight but it takes us ages to perfect it, even taking inspiration from creatures like this one! Thanks for always giving us great videos

Normally a fan of your videos, but this one is somehow even better than normal, those eyes are fantastic :) Always glad to see your shorts

I would like to see bacterial growth in everyday repeated use items like wash cloths, towels, bar soap, tooth brushes. Would be nice to have insight into this

The eyes are sooo pretty. The facets glimmer like a christmas ornament

I think they lay eggs as a last ditch effort if they are about to die. Ive seen them do the same thing when caught in spider's webs or carnivorous plants.

you should know that male mosquitos do not have a needle-like proboscis, and also mosquitos have one pair of wings because they're also in the order Diptera (literally means two wings). but yeah this is a crane fly

Mosquitos also only have one pair of wings, they are all Dipterans.
And the egg laying was most probably stress-induced. This stress-induced oviposition is seen in several insect groups (e.g. Blattodea) as a last resort of reproduction/distributing their Gametes.

Most bugs lay eggs when stressed, it's so if they're attacked there's a chance the offspring will live.

I hate this bug so much. Literal nightmare flashbacks come to mind every summer when they used to raid my home.

Maybe she lays her eggs because she thought she was about to die and did it out of instinct to carry on the survival of her kind. Just a theory. Her eyes were amazing

Here in my home town, we call em mosquito eaters! They don't even eat mosquitoes, so I'm not sure why people call them that lol

"a stereoscope" this is what I need to get.. I'm a silversmith from Ireland, learning how to become a setter at the moment and I thought that other jewelers used microscopes to do really small complex settings, but now I know it's not a microscope so thank you so much 🙏🏼.. you probably saved me from making a costly mistake lol..ps I'm so glad I found your channel. takes me right back to being a kid when my grandfather got me my very first microscope, it was only a pretty expensive toy kind but I had so much cool times with that thing. and ever since I love to see the microscopic world, I love all your vids so keep them coming. all the best, I'm gonna google stereoscope prices now, hope I don't have a heart attack lol ✌🏼
