A SECRET SHORTCUT to the Cannery Workshop (Bleak Inlet)

This is a secret shortcut to the Cannery Workshop in Bleak Inlet. Use at own risk - its mostly for style points, although if you enter the Cannery from the north you can use this method to avoid Timberwolves entirely.

EXPLANATION/GUIDE:
To do it you need 100 stones (I got most of mine from Forlorn Muskeg). You need 50 for the first cache by the hill above the cannery, which you run straight at from the little drop above it, and then turn mid-air onto the ledge. It will not work if you are heavy or the wind is against you. Another 50 stones are needed in your inventory in order to "rock jump" out of the ledge you land on. When you select the cache downwards, it launches your character slightly upwards, allowing you to get out of the ledge. For future use, you could always leave the stones by the ledge and grab them - or create a 2nd cache on the ledge for easy pickup.

If you want an alternative route to the cannery that is safer and without pain, use kimiota's rock jump instead. It won't allow you to bypass wolves, but you will take no damage and its easier:

Raph teased a shortcut to the cannery back when Bleak Inlet was released. For a long time, people tried to find it. Well - here it is, although it must be pointed out that this is NOT the shortcut Raph referred to: he confirmed in a tweet that he meant the rope from the lookout tower.

Please note that the footage in this video is from a custom Pilgrim, with Timberwolves turned off. However, I did replicate this on my interloper run, risking my 900 days survival time. It works surprisingly consistently, and I was able to do it on interloper three times in a row, skipping Timberwolves entirely. Keep in mind, though, that on interloper you will take more damage (about 35-40%) and usually get between 2-4 sprains. I highly recommend taking your clothes off before jumping, to avoid torn clothing (but keep them in the inventory).

Good luck jumping!

I mean that's not personally a jump I would attempt but Jesus A+ for effort

It always fascinated me how they got this region so complicated, with timberwolves, weak ice deltas, obstacle course, constant auroras, passcode which requires you to get all the way from the ravine and pray to God it has a rope in one of the two spawn points (which mine today hasnt so I had to make my way to Coastal Highway) like I just want to make some bullets hinterland :(

Timberwolves: "Yeah, we're out. Later."

With that jump, you made TLD look like it has the same physics as Quake lol

there should be a spot for a rope near the workshop itself, all of it is just tedious
but well played, that was a tough jump and an even harder find

Thank you for showing the whole process but also fast-forwarding through the walking.

Also wow, that is quite a feat.

This is my favorite ammo workshop because once you reach the mountaineers rope you're safe from wolves attack if you have high tier armor like a moose hide coat and combat boots you can completely ignore the wolves and run straight for the rope

I think you can make the jump with the e stim never did it because it would cause damage.

Nice find but I don't see myself ever using this

You’ll take literally zero damage, find a ton of loot along the way and can hunker down with a workbench at your access. All without wasting a rock cache or taking damage.

Yeah this is why I’ll stick to black rock.
Or y’know archery, archery is a plus.
