In this video i talk about the MR002 down hill mountain bike, a bit of its history and how parts of it were made. We then test ride the MR002 at the 'Pedal a bike away bike" park in the Forrest of Dean, check out stephen_millyard on instagram. I will be making a separate video soon on the HyperRide2 shock and forks, what its like to ride, including rider testimonials and telemetry data.

As a person interested in both MTB and Motorbikes I stumbled across your videos and left astounded. You're a true legend and I'm questioning if my engineering degree is valid after seeing this. Truly humbled by your skills.

who else smiles when the phone scenes come on? Allen you are a true genius!!

You made my brother a mech hanger out of a frying pan for his broken orange patriot at a BDS race in like 2008.

Thats when i first learned what engineers are supposed to be.

you've done more for bike's in your shed than all bike manufacturers have done in the last 100 yrs, amazing stuff

This guy is one of the most under appreciated engineers I've ever encountered.
I understand that it must've been hideously expensive to produce but why hasn't it been funded to be available to more people?
Pure genius.

Calling You a genius would be an understatement.

Fascinating stuff. Seems well ahead of it's time even now. I love the thought of a near zero maintenance drivetrain with derailleur to smash off. You sir are a genius 🙌

I was always blown away by your motorcycle builds. I cannot believe I have only just discovered this downhill bike build. Mate, you are an utter genius. As a mountain biker, this engineering masterpiece would give me so much joy.
Love your no-nonsense and informative videos.

All mountain bikes should be made like this.

Where's the "add to cart" button, Allen?

Many are asking for MTB gearboxes to catch on, but the MTB racing economy dictates the consumer production line. You are a true pioneer! Saving up for a future Gearbox in my price range possibly still only an idea for a future engineer.

I am still amazed Allen that you haven't been listed under "the official secrets act". It's people like you that change the way we all live and drag the rest of us behind you.
For your next project can you sort out this Covid could all be "well pleased" with that!

I hope your son realises he has one of the best dads on the planet....

So why has the international bike industry still not caught up with Allen and his shed ?
This just makes all that external chain and derailleur stuff look daft.

He is not just a genius but an all round automotive sage, and all round nice guy. This bike needs to be studied by many so called manufacturers. The gearbox alone is an engineering work of art. Beautiful!!

This needs to be featured on the gmbn tech show because it is awesome. I'm sending Doddy a link to this video.

I regularly come back to both videos.

I remember reading about it in dirt magazine in 2007 and it has never left my mind ever since. This, to this day, is still the epitome of engineering as far as i am concerned (in the MTB industry, of course)

Most people remember Honda's attempt and were swayed by the shiny toy from a reputable motorcycle company, however, the ML bikes are, to this day, the measuring stick against which all so called revolutionnary MTB should be measured.

Thank you for those 2 videos, they are truly important.

My jaw is gonna be on the floor all day! Love the old KLG plug at 4:17. These days it seems kids are not shown the joy of working with their hands and making STUFF.

Allen, I can remember when my boy Jack got into Down Hill Mountainbiking, and I was totally unaware as to how much they cost. It was a steep learning curve, and I saw them as being very poor value for money. It is amazing that you just made one.
