Weakest Gulf Stream in 1,000 years could bring more 'extreme' winters to UK

The Gulf Stream that helps warm the UK and northwest Europe is at its weakest in over 1,000 years and could lead to more "extreme and intense" winters, according to researchers.

They say the slowdown observed in the 20th century is "unprecedented" and likely connected to climate change.

I know the gulf stream weakening is meant to be a bad thing for the Ireland/UK. But the Gulf Stream is also what keeps our weather boring and damp.
If the gulf streamed weakened it means we’d get snowy winters and hot summers .. feck it maybe it’s a good thing 😂😂

Geologists inform me that the Gulf Stream has switched off in the past and caused severe all-year winters in the north. Something to do with an excess of fresh water in the oceans.
