“When we fight against the ocean, we’re sure to drown”

That is so profound

That's exactly what I needed to hear today. Thank you, dr Fox.

To be honest, I think one of the biggest reasons people don't trust their mental health providers is that they seem so unwilling to say that some things just suck. Good job. 😊👍

That’s so funny because I’ve finally came to this conclusion this past week. It’s really hard. But freeing.

This is an important strategy to remember, and a very difficult thing to do. Thanks Dr. Fox.

I have been accepting what has been coming my way for years now. Every year seems to get worse than the one before. At the moment I’m done

Thank you. What’s kind of ironic is I’ve almost always accepted myself, because I’ve been that way as long as I can remember. It wasn’t until other doctors told me I had a problem and I needed tons of medication that didn’t help. I have been able to understand there are things I can change and work on, and things as you said, “let it go”. I did need to hear this again today; I thank you as I had no one else to remind me.

Thank you so much. Radical acceptance is a great tool and it has help me the past. I need to start implementing it a lot more these days. 👍

Another thing that helps me is looking at what has to be accepted with radical acceptance. Cognitive distortions and catastrophic thinking about how this could get worse aren't part of the acceptance.

Sometimes it doesn't get better if it's a health problem or an aging issue. What then?
