RIDGID Universal Miter Saw Stand REVIEW MS-UV AC9946 Miter Stand with Wheels - This is a review of the RIDGID MS-UV AC9946 Miter Saw Utility Vehicle. In this video I share my likes and dislikes about this tool as well as issues I had with the product and RIDGID. I purchased this stand from the Home Depot for $129 in 2020 and have used it for a few years prior to reviewing it. In short, it's a sturdy stand with lots of nice features, which I demonstrate in the review.

RIDGID Miter Stand With Wheels, RIDGID Miter Saw Stand with wheels, RIDGID Saw stand, AC9946, RIDGID Stand

*****UPDATE: While my stand came with a "Life Service Agreement" (Yes, I have the documentation), RIDGID has taken it upon themselves to reduce it to a "3 Year Limited Warranty." That's a bait and switch! If you buy the stand as of 2024, you will now only get a 3 Year Limited Warranty.

I bought this stand several years ago on sale for $99! It works great with my 56# DeWalt 12” sliding compound miter saw. We just bought a couple to replace folding DeWalt and Milwaukee stands that were a pain to set up and dismantle daily on the job site.

I had the dewalt stand for 1 day before selling it and buying the msuv. Just FYI if you put your saw in the middle it will be more balanced and make folding and unfolding easy. This is my fav. stand. all the supports sag so i cant fault it. Overall best bang for the buck. the tough built looks very similar and sure its good too. I also have the bosh gravity stand for my table saw and the msuv is easier to use.

thanks to all reviewer’s on you tube. i actually found a new ridged AC 9946 on line . a gentleman was selling it only 10 minutes from where we travel to my sisters in law. waited for a sale that never came i came across this one for$149.00 or best offer. i gave him $160.00. it was a bargain.

I can't confirm that, I mean don't leave it in the rain obviously but this thing is amazing, super easy to load into a truck for example and the way it's balanced, the first time you folded up, it feels like it's going to fall over or slam into itself, it does not. Very very well built and I think it was on sale recently at Home Depot as well but generally speaking, this thing is amazing and I believe you can use it with any other saw it has the added rails for long Lumber and all that good stuff, thing is amazing!

I have one of these. Purchased a few years ago (it's 2023 as I write this).
I like the Ridgid MSUV for the most part. The one flaw is the placement of the tension levers which lock/unlock the wing/supports for extending/contracting.
The frame of the MSUV prevents the lever on the rear-left-side from being turned while the stand is fully-deployed. The right-side-front is fine. But the stand has to be at least partially folded-up in order for the left-rear tensioner to be turned freely. This is awkward for one person, but can be done.
Other than that, I've appreciated the otherwise user-friendly and strong-enough-for-my-tasks nature of this portable stand.
I've got an Admiral 12-inch compound-miter-saw (from Harbor Freight) mounted on mine.
Overall, I don't think I could have done better for the money spent. :-)

Just bought the delwalt726. The drawbacks are: it sits low, wheels are too small to go up bumpy yards, and it only comes with one handle bar. The latter is a big problem as two handle bars are needed to operate it as a wheelbarrow or hand dolly. I am looking at the Rigid now for the reasons mentioned above.

I have an older model of this same stand.... the new one has larger circumference wheels and the handle is now a whereas, my handles are individual handles.... so, it seems improved in a few ways to me. I LOVE this it is SO EASY to employ to a working stand and retract into storage mode and wheels around the yard very easily. I have showed this stand to several people over the years and they all agree what a sweet design it is. I just replaced my Ridgid 12 inch Compound miter saw with a new Dewalt saw, and it mounted in the universal mounts of this stand another plus!! I debated on getting a color matched Dewalt stand, but decided it would be a waste of money, since I love the functionality of this stand so much.... plus; The Ridgid Stand has a nice recessed storage area on the left side of the 'saw' which is great for storing pencils, small notepad, nuts/bolts/screws/wrenches etc. I don't believe the folding Dewalt has such a feature.

I was in the market for a new Miter Saw so I bought the Ridgid 12in Miter Saw and got the stand FREE 😁

we’ll i’ve had mine a while now and it’s a great stand to have my 12 inch miter saw on. very portable . i’ve used it in the yard to replace shed doors and new trim on the under deck trim. built a new mantle . this is the perfect rolling miter stand for the $$ . like it was said in the video, being tall is helpful in raising this stand with the saw mounted . i’m only 76 and it’s no problem at all . keeps you in shape . bought mine on facebook new for $160 so shop around if you don’t want to pay $260 . if your a contractor than go for the bosch @ $340.

Don't leave it outside. Bought it at a yardsale and ants live inside of the pipes (two weeks of them coming out to find food from lumber). Came with broken work supports and I have searched everywhere to buy new ones with no avail. 3:22 previous owners assembled it wrong and I had to reassemble it with no instructions (used photos of it built online and lots of patience).

That thing went from about $129 in Oct 2021 to $219 Dec 2023, both from Home Depot. That's absurd. I'll wait for it to go on sale or come back down. Otherwise, they can keep it.

I've had very good experiences with their warranty

I got mine for $199 at home depot… you’re right. … the instructions was like trying to watch old people F…. Thank God for YouTube so I could assemble it. Great video. I hope it last… I think for a home owner it’s ok. I think for a professional probably want something else

I have ~26 ridgid power tools, about 8 batteries and a few chargers registered. I have had two batteries replaced under warranty that I bought in 2010. They are slug-slow at changing the 3yr to lifetime, so you DO have to follow up with an agent to get them to change it, but they gladly do. Their customer service agents are not the kind Canadians you know so well. These must be those angry french-candians....
And for reference. This stand in 2023 is now $250, but in 2019 was ~$130 THAT is some BS.

I’ve debating between this one and the Dewalt. I have a 12” slider that is breaking my back to install it on my non rolling saw horse type stand. This one has the huge wheels that will definitely help out, they seem weak where they’re attached though. Thanks for sharing your experience, I’m leaning on Ridgid, yes it’s currently on sale for $150.

I will echo the comments on assembly instructions and the diagrams in the manual, not good. Besides that, love it so much that I’m buying another one for my thickness planer when I have room. Literature says chop saw only but the stand is rated for 350 lbs.

Does this work with a Milwaukee 10in miter?

Is that a craftsman miter saw that has no rear bars and built like a metabo?

Yeah, Ridgid customer service isn't the best... Had to deal with them a few years ago and nope, won't do it again. It's a shame, but to hell with them.

Why they eliminated the hydraulic assist is beyond me… Ir is sturdy though..
