It's amazing how much smarter you become by studying more and being raised by both parents that value education.

They also have the highest rate of suicide among all racial groups. I personally think there is a correlation between those high expectations and the suicide numbers..

Not gonna lie but every single Asian person I’ve met so far has been god tier at like all academia, when Asians give advice I listen lol …it almost feels like it’s generationally inherited, that and hard work

Hard work still works. Their culture produces superior results on average.

They have traditional conservative values, education being of the upmost importance.Japanese americans are only a few gens removed from concentration camps and are today one of highest median incomes earners in usa. The American dream is real.

I like how this video lacks context and just sounds like you going "hey Asian guy, why y'all so smart?" 😂

There are millions of very low educated farmers in China, it is more about dedication and discipline than anything else.

Depends what "asians" you are talking about. Not all Asians are the same

Making wise decisions is more important than your raw brain power. An average guy can go a long way just by making good choices

As an average asian I disapprove this post.

What about happiness? one simple word
Not sure working hour, after hour, after makes you a better person.
Working hour after hour makes you a Drone and you end up lacking creativity.

Is there a value of a Father taking is son out to play football?
Or a family going out to eat and then going to the Cinema?
Or in the case above, working to 10pm or 11pm every night just studying. A lost childhood, if you ask me.

As a asian i'm hust smart in studies but actually and really dumb in real life, my whole life and routine is messed up, i'm in my junior secondry school and i feel like i'll become a mental patient until university
i just study hard and maybe that made me smarter, i was shocked when i tested my iq and it was 130 and i was only 13 years old that time (it's just a year ago), i hope to make the world a better place with no racism

As an Asian, we're not smarter, it's our culture that is over 4000 years old - all that wisdom is passed down to inevitably our behaviors.

No of course not. If work hard you can reap the rewards.

I don’t disagree with anything the author said, but I also think there is a selection bias. We are basing our assumption on the Asian immigrants that immigrate to the US (ie, the Asians that we see). This population are either wealthier so they can afford to emigrate (ie, parents are professionals or can provide for the best education) or the child sees how his/her parents gave up everything just so they can have a better life…so they need to study hard to support their parents and the family in the future (lots of pressure/motivation to study hard, work hard). We never see the majority of Asians that are still stuck on farms or begging on the streets of their home country.
