Candace Cameron Bure BLASTS Olympics Opening Ceremony

Candace Cameron Bure labels the Olympics opening ceremony 'disgusting' in a video message on Instagram. The actress is one of many criticizing a segment that puts a new twist on Leonardo da Vinci's 'The Last Supper' with drag queens. However, the International Olympic Committee and the ceremony's director insist they were inspired by a famous depiction of Dionysus, the Greek god of wine.

The lady with the crown( Barbara Butch) posted on instagram a side by side comparison of all of them next to the last supper and wrote “OH YES! OH YES! THE NEW GAY TESTAMENT!”. She has since deleted the post. Pierce Morgan wrote an article on this in the New York post.

The openings were disgusting on a simple moral basis. I'm not religious and I even found them offensive to all Catholics.

I’m a huge art and history enthusiast, and I know Greek mythology pretty well.And in no way shape or form did that display look like that painting that they are insinuating it supposed to be. Even the body movement and the way they had been standing did not depict the painting in which they say it suppose to be. Very little similarities to that painting and this “ interpretation”. Many people that I know who our art enthusiast immediately said they themselves thought of the last supper. Not only did this offend the Christian community, but you insulted the Greeks, their history and culture with this display and called it “an interpretation of their history” how embarrassing, I’m not a Christian and I myself was appalled.

I am christian and found it disrespectful. The thing about these people is they do a lot of hateful talking and behavior but when their judgment day comes they will be begging God for forgiveness and mercy. At this point though, these attention seekers just need to be ignored.

You know what I find extremely interesting?

All the short snippets of the artistic director stop before he says "we have the right to worship, and not to worship" and then the snippet continues after that point. Without that portion, his statement paints a very different picture.

Why weren't the commentators given what to say - why was it left up in the air for them to make the comparison.
