Why The Republican Co-Host Seat On The View Is Cursed

With more than 30 Emmy Awards, 25 seasons, and an ever-changing array of hosts, The View is one of the most popular daytime talk shows around, due in no small part to the show generating constant controversy and on-set blow-ups between the politically diverse hosts.

One seat that seems to have more turnover than any other is the one occupied by the resident Conservative. With politics at the forefront of more peoples' minds than ever, finding a balance of viewpoints is important, but some believe that the seat is doomed to begin with. Here's why the Republican co-host seat on The View is cursed.

Not all conservatives are judgmental and think they're above others. Maybe if they found someone like that, it would help.

Because the role basically exists to be the panel's punching bag. And most of the people they hire aren't used to that kind of verbal sparring. I mean really if you want someone to survive longterm in that role bring on someone like Ann Coulter. She's verbal nitroglycerin but I could just about guarantee she'd thrive in a three on one environment day in day out.

I agree with the sentiment The View needs at least two conservative co-hosts to back each other up. Although I don't particularly like Meghan McCain, I do concede when Abby Huntsman left it became a 4 vs 1 punching match. And no, Ana Navarro would not be a good conservative choice. I also think the moderator needs to be more centrist. I do like Whoopi and think she is great on the view, but she is too liberal to be the moderator and so was Rosie O'Donnell. I would actually like to see Sara Haine be the moderator - she is respectful, calm and a centrist. But honestly I dont think any of this will happen.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck was the only one who ever lasted in that seat because she had the balls to defend the counter view while also not taking it personally nor caring about negative comments.

The view needs to make the show not 1 sided thru it with it putting 2 chairs for republicans on it and 2 for dems on it. To b putting 3 against 1 on it lets the 3 bukly just the 1 on it thru the 3 of em on it and if thats not the goal of the show thru it then it needs to be making it not 3 vs 1 thru them on it. Maybe then more would want or like to watch 3 non bullies on it bully only 1 on the right thru them

The issue is the show is trying to maintain the divide between people. Political parties were created on order to divide people. Honestly political parties should be abolished.
