Want to see more vintage footage of Tove Jansson’s summers at the Klovharun island, fishing, dancing on the cliffs and hosting parties? Head to the Moomin Museum in Tampere, Finland, which hosts an exhibition called An Artist’s Life – Tove Jansson.
In addition to a 15 minute montage of footage shot by Tove’s partner Tuulikki Pietilä on vintage footage, the exhibition sheds light on Jansson’s multifaceted career as an illustrator and writer, which has often been overshadowed by her Moomin work. The exhibition is open 20.4.2024 – 18.5.2025 – a perfect way to spend a rainy day this summer!
