DEEPER IN GRACE (S2 Part-5): "Confession of Sins Explained"

1 JOHN 1:9 NKJV
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
TITUS 2:11-12
11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age.
There are Christians who use 1 John 1:9 like a SOAP-FORMULA for everyday forgiveness, just like in the Old Testament when someone commits a sin, they have to offer a sacrifice on the altar for the forgiveness of their sins – likewise today, most people need to confess the sins they have committed in order to be forgiven.
Furthermore, many Christians believe that if you do not confess your sins, you will not be forgiven and if you die, you will not go to heaven. In this way of thinking, it seems like your salvation is determined by and based on your daily confession and not on the finished work of Jesus!
This is a simple clash between your everyday work of confession versus the one–time finished work of Christ on the cross. Let us find out more as Mark Christian explains the difference between the two.
