I'm not perfect in english, but i will explain it clear as i can. The word 'Chapchar' means drying in the sun and Kút means festival. Chapchar Kut is a Spring Festival, a biggest festival in Mizoram. It's related to Jhumm Cultivation. It is used to be celebrated to thank God (Khuanu) for saving the people from harm and accident during the time of clearing the forest for seasional farming every year, Chapchar kut is like a Thanksgiving festival, It's held during the period of bamboo and trees that have been cut down and await to dry to be burnt for farming. During this time of drying, our ancestors were free from work to have time for themselves So, it is celebrated in the month of march- April (Summer) after clearing woods (Trees and bamboo) and before burning
I wish i could explain it more clearer than this. And i really wanna mention that Mizoram is not just a honking free State in india, it is also most peacefull state in india. Anyway, thanks for your reaction and lots of love from Bangalore.

Chapchar Kut literally means - a festival held during the period when the bamboos and trees that have been cut down are being awaited to dry to be burnt for jhumming. During this brief layoff period of jhumming, the Mizo ancestors could have all the time for themselves.

I am from Aizawl. I agree it's nice to see the rolling hills and blue skies but we are used to it. I think we sometimes forget to appreciate the beauty of our state. But one thing I will never forget to appreciate is the closeness, the trust and the innocence we still see in today's age among the Mizos. If you lost your valuables, you have a very high chance of getting it back. Where else would you find a taxi driver searching for you to return lakhs of rupees you forgot in the car?? Things like this make me realise humanity still exist here, maybe more than other states.

Here from Aizawl, capital city of Mizoram.🙋‍♀️While i was in Dubai, working, the one thing i've always missed from my hometown were the mountains and the greens.🤭Its really beautiful out here, especially during Spring and Autumn.We dont have skyscrapers, flashy cars and million dollar homes.But the one thing we have here is peace and plenty of natural faunas and floras.Thanks for the reaction.Do visit us, one day.☺We'll be glad to show u around.
