It is not that we never use horn. We usually use horn or momentarily use light to communicate with other traffic. It would be safe to say 98% we use horn is to say thank you.

The place where there's no traffic 🚥, but all the riders of Aizawl city doesn't need at all, they don't need horn either . It is called silent city. Even at the most peak hour with rough traffic jam, none of the driver never blew their horn. Isn't it amazing.
The only place that the driver don't need traffic lights but none of them broke the rules and its the only city where driver blew a horn to thank their fellow driver when they are being passed by other drivers politely .
Every good things here happened only becoz of our almighty God.

My mom once visited Mizoram in 2012 to attend my cousin brother wedding. Till today she can't stop talking about how friendly they were, the environment, everything about mizoram. The only negative word she got to said is that most of the married elderly women(40 above) are fat. She hardly find any slim women. Anyway I'm from Manipur

Honking is mostly used to say thank you to the other vehicle for letting us pass first. If a taxi or a normal car apart from an ambulance continuously honks, it means they carry a patient in need of immediate medical assistance, and the other vehicles clear out to let it pass by as quickly as possible
