Years ago when I was stationed in Germany, I visited a large mansion (read: basically a castle) and it had italian or french tile in this one room that was white and blue, almost identical in theme to this game (especially certain parts of the playing board) If that was the aesthetic Ian O'Toole was going for he completely nailed it.
It also reminds me of teacups or something like that.

I literally just unboxed my copy from Amazon yesterday! It is indeed beautiful, but my copy came with duplicates of a few of the wooden pieces, and it didn’t come with any houses or rubble cubes!

Eagle-Gryphon is on it trying to ship the proper pieces to me. <3
