Russia's geography is excellent. Firstly Geography is study of the Earth- Russia is the largest country geographically.
Secondly- When we studied geography in high school we studied natural resources- we have one of the largest petroleum and natural gas reserves in the world in Russia.
Geography also studies food production- Russia has the Steppes which produces ample food for Russia. The country is one of the largest exporters of wheat in the world.
The geography of Russia has stopped many invading armies in its tracks.
The Ural Mountains have ample natural resources. Russia has access to the Arctic Sea which is becoming accessible due to global warming and it has ample natural resources.

Russia has the eastern Kamchatka peninsula bordering the warmer and deeper Pacific. It is also very remote and the southern part os open and distant enough from Japan and the US to remove meaningful indirect interference. If they were to connect it with the rest of Russia and set up ports there, they could do pretty decent.

What about any ports on the east side of the Kamchatka Peninsula? Surely those would be best bets in case of being cut off at the Strait of Bosporus, the Sea of Japan, and the Baltic Sea.

This has been the only link I have watched/read, which points out that Russian shipment through the Baltic Sea, has the same problem as Russian shipment through the Black Sea: it can be blocked by Western allies. Too bad Japan can't block Russian ships across the entire Sea of Okhotsk. Then Russia's southernmost region without such boundaries would be off the southern tip of the Kamchatka Peninsula. Since further east from there is the Bering Sea, with Alaska and its Aleutian Islands. Then the Arctic Ocean, which is frozen for too much of the year.
