Great video. I am a noobie and its get so confusing but your video broke it down. Just to confirm. If I have two daughters in college one in Arizona and one in Michigan I can get each of them a radio. At home in California I can have a radio or in addition a base to speak with them in case of SHTF etc. Question is it possible to speak to both at the same time to check on them or do I need to contact each separately. Also, how to I contact them using a repeater is it automatic or do I have to do something? Just get the license and it will reach them? Sorry but no one explains in simple terms. I just need something that will allow me to contact my girls who are in different states. Thanks!

Nice video. Informative and not any longer than it needs to be. Just one thing, channels 8-14 (467.xxxx MHz) should always be programmed to narrow and low power and should never be used on mobile radios. This is very important to minimize interference to GMRS repeaters and because violations can cost you fines of $10k or more. FCC rules require narrowband and 0.5w output on these channels.

But how do we program a baofeng UV-5g plus...our instruction booklets doesn’t help....and all we can find on YouTube is the UV-5R programming...and it’s not the same.
