HP TouchPad CM10 Tips, Tweaks and Fixes Guide for Jelly Bean, Android 4.1.2

Notes:

1) Once running CyanogenMod for the first time, you may need to enable MTP(Media Transfer Protocol) This will enable the TouchPad to transfer files and charge using the USB cable. To Enable MTP mode, Go to settings/storage, look for the three dots upper right hand corner of the screen, tap computer connection, and make sure there is a check next to MTP.

Apps to shutdown TP before 0% battery:
-AutomateIt- What to do: New Rule/Trigger Battery level(Below 20%)/Action/Shutdown//save.

Quick System Info PRO:

X-plore File Manager:

Note* X-plore needs to be given Root Permissions by clicking the 3 dots in the corner and choosing configuration. Here check your Root Access settings. SuperUser + Mount Writable, this is what it should say. Next you may need to reboot before it takes effect.

thank for solutions to hp touchpad fix, many thanks for time but i was looking for a fix for gmail app on cm9 because sometimes seems after update 4.2 gmail it alway force close and will not open can you help out although i tried to delete restall but the same problem. needed help from you thanks.

Thanks for sharing this, I managed to install CM10 using your gapps, Everything works fine. However my system has only 40kb free space, system memory is 394 MB. I tried deleting the media files as you suggested using x-plore but it says "Error some files could not be deleted". Also I have some duplicate apps like Apollo and your custom media player. Gallery app (ver 1.1.40000 & 1.1.40001). Any idea how I can uninstall duplicate apps? Thanks for help

I have a touch pad which loaded with CM9 but it bricked. Luckily my touchpad was still in warranty and I was able to get it restored back to WebOS. Now after so many months I am thinking of loading CM10 on it again. Can you please guide me so that I do not get my touchpad bricked again. I tried everything mentioned at different web sites for restoring it but it did not worked. Is that issue of bricking has been fixed. What should I do to avoid it from happening again.

Hi, It worked great but the battery won't charge. It died and then I had it plugged in. It shouls the battery simble (charging) but doesn't turn on. What do I do? Thank you.

Once you enable the Battery Check service, do you have to enable the service each time you restart the TP? Also, I have 16.48MB free System Storage after installing CM10 and Gapps 4.1. Is this normal?

From using the Quick System Info Pro app you suggested in the video, it shows that I have 25.4GB total on my SD card storage with 24.1GB free, 1.48GB internal storage with 1.28GB free, and 387MB System storage with 58.92MB free...is this all ok? Sorry for that lame question. I have two more: The Quick System Info app says that A2SD storage information is not available, is that bad? Last question: 1.28GB doesn't seem like a lot for apps and games, should I move apps to SD card?

Hey Roland I am having the same problem with ur help I finally have the Goggle play but now the keyboard is gone.. not sure what u mean by reflashing or installing an apk version? lol
