Level 7 - The Midnight Zone
Показать описание
Deeper and deeper you go into the lifeless void. The cold water becomes colder, and the dim shine from the sun fades away as you descend into what seems to be a danger zone. Things start to take a sudden turn when you start to see something terrifying. In these deep depths are the skeletons and what remains of multiple human bodies, all of them laid out in the rocks and crevices of the ocean. You hope to God that these people only died due to drowning and nothing more.
The more corpses you see, the harder it is for you to keep count. You can't stop looking at these bodies, imagining how utterly brutal their last moments were before their death. Each body is suspiciously dismembered with some missing arms and others missing full sections. You have the urge to gag, but you try your hardest not to as to avoid losing any more oxygen than you already have.
At some point during your exploration in this area, you begin to hear faint echoes of a muffled whale-like call. You instantly look around, trying to find what that sound could possibly be. Alas, the sound continues with no trace or direction of where it may be. Your heart starts to beat faster due to this sense of danger, causing you to lose even more oxygen as you panic and hyperventilate. You cover your ears and close your eyes, praying that you don't hear these disturbing noises again.
The noise gets even louder, making it pointless to cover your ears, as the sound grows so loud that it vibrates the water. You continue to close your eyes, trying your best to ignore what seems to be a possible end of your journey. You hear the sounds of a heavy swish of water somewhere around closeby as if it's swimming towards you. Suddenly out of nowhere, a powerful wave pushes you further deeper into the abyss, emitting a loud, earth-shattering roar as it happens.
You gasp, shooting water straight into your lungs and causing you to cough, losing almost all of your air. Your body flails with the heavy cinder block, pulling your leg as you fall faster. You open your eyes in absolute terror. Not only have you been swept deeper into the ocean, but now you're holding in a handful of water in your lungs, with little oxygen to prepare for the point of no return. You take one look up to see the light one last time.
However, there's no light to be seen.
All that you can make out is the silhouette of a monstrous fish swimming over you, looking for its next prey as it moves through the sea like a large submarine, releasing harsh cries into the uninhabited abyss. This thing may not have seen you, maybe it didn't want you, but whatever this thing is, without a shadow of a doubt...
It is the king of this sea, and you were spared.
A final call from the gargantuan beast was faintly heard before your vision becomes completely dark, sending you to the final layer of the sea.
Welcome to the Midnight Zone.
