Humble are the Meek for they shall inherit the earth…News flash not all poor are kind good deserving people. Humble has left this group…a renter is a renter not an Owner, there is so much more to being an owner. People who can’t even take care of themselves demanding others afford them is not going to go well for the poor. The homeless are on the streets because they don’t want to follow rules at shelters but complain there are no shelters….stop the lies time to be honest. I doubt project type housing would be sneered at as not good enough and something about freedom…at someone else’s expense. The evictions have just begun things are about to get worse. Sympathies have been drained, replaced by I gotta worry about me because I could be next. 😢

And how many of the poorest people here in Denver and surrounding areas have kept their mouths shut out of fear of being evicted, homeless and having a bad renter report given to a future landlord?!? It is especially scary for women with children, disabled people and those who are barely making ends meet!!

I hope this passes. I’m a landlord and I’m be in support of better renters rights. Colorado has super weak renters rights as it is. Only bad landlords would oppose common sense regulations.

This is going to affect good landlords and will cause rental rates to increase, good luck finding a rental out there now

INSANITY. If I want to rent my house, I have have a GOOD REASON to not rent out my house anymore. The Democrats are trying to make renting into a pseudo sale of the house per monthly payment. You rent the house, it is yours for a life time with free repairs, no insurance payments and no property taxes! Awesome, except very few Mom-n-Pop landlords want to be the landlord in this situation. This would effectively be a life time landlord commitment of the property with payments and repair obligations for your entire life. And who you let in the house, lives in the house forever. If you get NIGHTMARE / DIFFICULT tenant, they can stay in the house and torment you for the next 20+ years? In essence, this forces people to be in an endless lease and be a landlord for life. People will SELL their old house instead of renting the family's starter house. Who wants to be forced to be landlord for life? What if you want to move to another state?
