This video will show you how to access a hidden storage space behind the rear driver's side seat. This is an extremely simple process and no tools are required. People will tell you that you need to purchase a release latch or custom make a release to access this space. You simply do not need to, virtually anyone can easily access this space, no matter your hand size.

This is the absolute best video on how to access this, hands down! So many other videos waste so much time giving you useless information! Thanks man

Have had my truck 6 YEARS and just found out about this!!! I know where my rifles are going next interstate hunting trip! Now hooking the seat back up was tricky on my 2014. First attempt it would not lock and I had a mini-panic attack I messed it up. On the back wall I had to slide the thingy in the center of the bracket it locks into all the way to the top and it locked no problem.

GREAT TIP! Thanks!

I did mine today. Cost me $3.00 for some picture wire and about three minutes time. Was able to use that storage space. Great video

Unless you have a Supercab then the back doesn't lean forward when you lift the seat. Took me a while with a wrench and a endoscope to get it.

If you can’t get your hand behind the seat pull the bolt in the bottom corner of the seat back and push that corner towards the back of the truck and it will open up the top a lot you can also do this in the supper duty trucks

Is there anything like this for the generation before this? (2004-2008)?

The thing is-this only applies to a 4-door CREW CAB! The Super Cab back of seat will NOT move an inch away from the back window. You will NOT gain access to that mechanism unless the bolts of the hinges are removed. Crew and Super cabs are two different animals in more ways than just the outside door handles. Please don’t assume that their identical seats-they are NOT. VERY IMPORTANT that this is clearly noted, to save people a TON of frustration. THANK YOU. Oh, and yes, that mechanism is indeed on the back of the Super Cab model, as well. It’s just not so easy to get at.

Great video, except... 2017 F150 Lariat, went to the back seat, found the latch and popped it open. And viola, no extra storage. My particular model has a factory subwoofer and amplifier and that’s where they put it. So no extra space in my truck. Thanks for demonstrating how to get it open but it doesn’t work for me.

Okay so I have a 2018 crew and when I lift up the bottom of the seat the back does not push forward at all so there no space to get my hand in or even see the latch. Anyone got any advice?

Does anybody know if the 2020 models are the same? I would imagine they are since my 13 raptor and 16 F-150 were.
