The thing that annoys me about this, being a Latvian myself who’s very fluent in both English and Latvian, is how whenever I tell people “yeah I’m from Latvia”, they’ll ask me what “sharp knife” means, and it honestly always annoys me.

The Latvian language is one of the oldest in the world, a hell of a lot older than English, and either way, those two words are pronounced a lot differently than what they make out to sound like.
