I’m thinking bout doing the same. I’m in Detroit, so I don’t have to worry bout hurricanes, tornadoes, or earthquakes. We get rain, sun, and snow. Over the past few years, we’ve barely had snow. I figured storing these little 20lb tanks in my storage bin outside would be good.

Thanks for that, confirmed what I was thinking. With regard to shade but high ambient temps, like very hot summer weather, how much will the outside air affect the metal tanks? Thanks again.

I have a couple of small propane for camping stove, can I have them in my rental storage with ac here in Florida?

I've heard of people covering them in tar and burying them but not those little ones!!!
Out under the trees in the shade under a tarpolin or build a little two post roof for them just off the ground to hopefully keep the rust off!!!
But nowhere near the house or garage anything expensive or life threatening!!!
After all it is compresssed gas and can be extremely volatile if punctured or kept around any ignition source!!!!
The better the care the safer and longer it'll last!!!!

I have the little propane tanks, new to this, I store them in a storage bin detached from the home here in Texas. Hope I'm doing this right
