The State of Florida has become something of a meme over the last year thanks to its penchant for churning out some of the most unhinged and eccentric criminals imaginable. The Florida Men. The Legend of Florida Man has spread far and wide across the internet. From gator-tossing assailants to manatee-riding trespassers to sunburnt chainsaw swindlers the imagination of the Florida Men knows no bounds. As someone from Florida, I have plenty of Florida Man stories. One story is cops got a call about a break-in. Cops show up to the address and find a guy passed out in the doorway with drugs and a gun next to him. However, the cops got the house number wrong and went to the wrong house just to find the suspect of the original call at that house.

I would like to mention something about the Ariel story-Disney cast members have very strict rules about staying in character since they don’t want the magic to be ruined for anyone. That means that even in a situation where a cast member is being harassed/assaulted, they have to stay in character and if they don’t they can risk losing their job :(

I’ve swam on the gulf coast and accidentally encountered a baby manatee and its mother. They’re extremely docile and the name “sea cows” definitely suits them. It’s sad, a lot of them have scars from boat propellers across their backs, I’ve never seen an adult one without them:(

I wish every state had the same ease of access to public record that Florida does. This kind of stuff happens in every state, but its leagues easier for the press to access the information in Florida, which is why it feels like this is only Florida.
