Common sense doesn't hurt!! Used is definitely a way to find older catalog titles. Thrift shops, pawning, ..there are TONS of ways to build a great collection without killing yourself financially. Your 5 tips are so spot on!! We're all in this together guys (and gals)..to enjoy movies. It should NEVER be about who has more than me, who spent more $ than me...it's what YOU like!!! Props to the

I always utilize Best Buy’s Black Friday deals to fill the holes in my collection. I got Blade, Quiet Place, John Wick 2&3 and Godzilla vs Kong for $36! If you just hold out and are patient, you’ll eventually find a good deal on almost anything.

Doing the lords work per usual. You sharing the treasure trove of Hamilton Books was a game changer.

I do *occasionally* blind buy a movie purely because of something such as "I really liked the artwork on the packaging" or "it was on sale" or such, BUT I will still only do that if there is at least *something* about the movie that gives me at least SOME kind of clue or sign that I will probably get some kind of enjoyment at least. For example, I liked the director's other films, or I really like that particular genre, or I've heard people saying great things about it or such.

I've added a lot of titles to my collection from pawn shops. There's a lot of garbage to wade through, but when you find something you want its almost always a good price. A good place to find out of print titles too.

I just purchased Dune (2021), The King's Man and the new Matrix all on 4K w/ slipcovers on eBay and saved around $30. I usually shop at my local Best Buy but the savings made a difference. Plus, I know my purchases are coming with slipcovers which is important to me. Thank you for the review.

Collecting is super fun, but it can easily go from a very rewarding passtime of slowly accumulating more and more goodies, to an obsessive agony to 'complete' the collection. but just remember, there is almost no such thing as a complete collection of anything

Regarding tip #5, I think many 4K collectors buy movies JUST to show off their home theater, even when the movies themselves aren’t very good, and the collectors don’t necessarily like the movies. I would never buy a movie SOLELY for its demo worthiness-it also has to be a movie that I like, that I enjoy watching. If it also happens to be top-tier in showing off the visuals and the sound, then that’s just icing on the cake.

Buying things just because you see them in someone's collection is a tough one lol, for the longest I wanted the VS Amityville House Boxset, then realized, I ain't ever gonna watch Amityville 4 5 or 6😅😅

Great tips Jeff, I think another big tip for collectors is just to be patient. Wait for the new release prices to go down. I could of saved so much money and not buy right on the release date.

If you live in Tennessee or are ever passing through there's a chain of stores called McKay's. There's only a few of them but they're huge warehouses full of movies, books, music, and games. It's all second hand merch so you can get really great deals and when you trade things in to them they actually give you a good amount of store credit. They're great.

A pawn shop in Philly is doing away with Bluray movies. I was able to work out a deal and got 50 movies for $100

My quick tips are Ebay and local pawn shops/used stores. You can usually find decent blu-rays for a few bucks each. Used stores typically have some kind of deal like buy 3, get one free. I would much rather pay about $4 for a used bluray than $20 for a new one, because there's not much value in the case being 'new'. I'm not the type of person that watches movies over and over.
