Algebra II on Khan Academy: Your studies in algebra 1 have built a solid foundation from which you can explore linear equations, inequalities, and functions. In algebra 2 we build upon that foundation and not only extend our knowledge of algebra 1, but slowly become capable of tackling the BIG questions of the universe. We'll again touch on systems of equations, inequalities, and functions...but we'll also address exponential and logarithmic functions, logarithms, imaginary and complex numbers, conic sections, and matrices. Don't let these big words intimidate you. We're on this journey with you!

About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

I know its an exercise-answer (only one correct answer) but the applet would work better with a 'trace' function on the foot of the altitude segment as otherwise you are merely 'imagining' the true path which it follows, or (even better) to be able to draw its locus dynamically.

I like how James Tanton does problems on his channel: He will ask about five different questions of the same picture or set up at once and allow the student to 'nut it' by answering them in free-style order

Khan Academy Where can I actually find the webpage that has a similar problem like this in khanacademy.com?

what website is used onscreen to display the problem?

Sal you could have just used the vertex on the graph to find the x, y values without any algebra at all

For the people who say this video sucks or was confusing, your the problem. This is a great video, good intuition.

it contradicted at a you calculated y for (x, y) you did subtract (-3/8) from it and made it (y-(-3/8) to (y+3/8) but when it came to calculating the distance of directrix to (x, y) you just added it made it (y+5/8), rather it should be clear my doubt
