More open and honest conversations about end-of-life issues are needed to address the mismatch of expectations between dying patients and their loved ones. Health Minister Ong Ye Kung said this will complement ongoing efforts, such as ramping up the number of palliative care spaces and qualified workers. At the virtual 7th Palliative Care Conference, Associate Professor Cynthia Goh received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to the palliative care sector for more than three decades.

We all die one day. Accept natural death as part of life is the first stage to deal with end-of-life. Train your mental state to see death not as a grief. Too many traditions and customs handed down generation after generation painting the picture of a dying person in such a negative way. The worst of all is that funeral expense today costs an arm and a leg.
