▶ How do I put in "diagnostics mode" or "clear system protect"

📖 IF DOES NOT TURN ON:
(1) Unplug, wait 10 sec, plug back in
(2) Hold down tone and straight buttons
(3) Then push the power button (BUT KEEP HOLDING TONE & STRAIGHT FOR EXTRA
SECOND)
If this does not work, you will have to take to an authorised repairer

▶ How can I fix my YAMAHA?
📖 If you are not a technician or engineer, take it to your Yamaha service centre

▶ I do not have a "Tone" or "Straight" or "Other" button?
📖 You have have to do some googling, to find information relevant to your model
But try "Tone" and "Info" at same time, whilst holding the "Power"

▶ Can you help me fix my yamaha ??? Receiver.
📖 Most of the time, unfortunately not, unless I have the receiver in front of me.

My Rx v371 was not powering up. I cleaned it using alcohol and did every possible thing. Left it unattended for last 4 years assuming it fried.
Out of curiosity I was fiddling with it today and referred to some videos, incl yours. Wallah it started working in one go. Thanks a lot for this video.

Thanks for the advice. It was solid. My Yamaha rx-v371 acted up and I thought it was ready to be thrown out as I started to put thing in place for a replacement. You saved me some money there. Youj're the champ

i have the Yamaha receiver RX-679, the red led for the power is on but cannot get any display or nothing when I push the power button, will flash red for about 10 time and nothing turns on,
so i tried few times your suggestion tone control plus straight togheter and power waiting 3 second on hold .
do you have any other suggestions ore need to take for repair ?

Great Video. I have a RX-V675 that was off for a couple days with a power outage. When power came back I get an "Internal Error" on the display. Have tried a couple time doing a USB firmware reload, but get the Error 4000 at the end. I have also attempted the power on holding the "INFO" and "STRAIGHT" button, but get the "No Model Info" message, and no buttons allow me to step through anything. Any other ideas before I take it to a service center which is many miles away from me???? Thanks in advance.

Quick question if the short cut to try and locate the fault won’t cause the front panel to come on does that mean the front panel isn’t working or does that likely mean it’s in the power supply?

I have found the 2 following problems with the power on my RX-V585, when it’s connected to 110 V, when testing voltage on leads going through to the transformer connector I have no V reading, but when the Transformer connector is unplugged, I get voltage at the leads. what can cause this? also, on T5401, at output leads 8, 9, 10 and 11, I have no DC volts, what should be the reading? because I have 0 on my multimeter. Are you able to help me?
