Why Simone Biles 'Broke Down' After Husband's Interview Went Viral

Simone Biles tells ‘Call Her Daddy’s Alex Cooper she 'broke down' after her husband Jonathan Owens' interview went viral last year. The gymnast recalls the backlash Jonathan faced for his comments on 'The Pivot' podcast, after the NFL pro claimed to be 'the catch' in his and Simone's relationship.

Her husband could have said, "Yeah I'm a catch. But so is my wife. She's beautiful, talented etc." Kind of unusual he didn't or at least didn't clarify this later in another video or even a tweet especially given how much noise this making. Maybe he corrected himself to her in private, but still it's weird he didn't publicly kill this story by saying he's a catch and attractive.

If she doesn't want to be bothered by it, she should avoid the internet and comment's section. Also she doesn't need to divorce him based off this one incident. If she is happy with him, that's her choice.

He didn’t only say he was the catch, he said he didn’t know you, that you drove 45 to see him, he was fighting the thought of to being with you and eventually gave in. Like that is so disrespectful to speak that way about you not only to the world but in your face.


He might praise you behind closed doors but we all see how he decided to move. That story was not cute, romantic or sweet.

There’s self confidence and then there’s ego…. his comment was 1000% EGO.
When someone says your wife is a catch and your response is “I’M the catch”, that ABSOLUTELY is denying she’s a catch, she’s delusional if she isn’t aware of that.
There’s some kind of disconnect with reality, like she is completely unaware of what a good man actually is or has had horrible male role models in her life or maybe lacks self confidence in herself and is therefore willing to accept that kind of treatment… regardless, that was not okay. And he was not joking either.
I’m not saying divorce him, it’s her life, and her choice, but their relationship seems to involve a little bit of emotional abuse imo, with the way she’s defending him and completely blind to what he did wrong.
