Simone Biles - error on vault in the Tokyo 2021 Team Finals

Simone biles injures herself and pulls out of the rest of the finals. This video is simply a video to show her vault, there is no hate intended in this video, simone is incredible and her mental health comes first and I’m so proud of her, so please no hate comments :)

Guys: the vault isn’t the reason that she quit. It could be a factor, but you don’t drop out after one mistake, even if it was scary. I mean, she could have permanently injured herself or even lost her life. Of course that will affect you. But you might want to wonder what happened before the vault as well. She said that she felt so much pressure being at the olympics, “defending her title”, representing her country. Plus we don’t know what her life is like behind the scenes, what other stressors she could be under. Things like this are always a culmination of many things. Either, I’m glad she dropped out for her own sake. Mental health is so important and no matter what caused it, she made the decision to drop out and that’s not an easy thing to do. Imagine going out as reigning champion and telling the entire world that you’re dropping out because of mental health which is still highly stigmatized. That’s strong. Had she continued she could’ve ended up far worse. Gymnastics takes a lot of mental strength, if you hesitate, you’re done.

The twisties as the gymnastics community call it. When gymnast loses their awareness mid air. This is dangerous. Glad Simone pulled out and prioritised her mental health and still cheered for her teammates, instead of kept going and let her teammates down with her current situation.

I saw this vault and immediately told myself, “simone is not defending her title” and i kinda felt the USA are not getting gold, , but im so proud of her so this isnt a negative comment at all, she deserves the world

Wow. Cant believe ppl are still shitting on her for stepping down after she thoroughly explained herself multiple times. She didnt just quit cause she had a bad vault. She explained that “twisties” are when she has no sense of where she is in the air. If she would have kept getting lost in the air while competing, she could have potentially landed on her back or neck causing chronic injuries or even been paralyzed

She also explained that the twisties may have been a symptom of the mental health battles she faced over the years from being sexually abused by one of her coaches.. like literally have some compassion

You could see it in her eyes before this, i immediately thought something was wrong, she didn't look sharp and focused, she looked broken. I am glad she decided to put herself first and hope she is better now.

i know she had the twisties, but that is one of the coolest/nicest yurchenko 1.5's ive ever seen. ive never seen anyone open up like that at the end of 1.5 twists like it was nothing! and it was a mistake! i bet she would have the most beautiful 1.5 yurks, could be HUGE

This vault is not a mistake by the way. It’s a complete yurchenko 1.5 twist. Landing deductions for sure but not a mistake.

The margin for error playing sports is so little, this vault is 7 seconds. For professionals they are on the limit so mistakes are inevitable, you see it in tennis, golf, baseball, AFL, NRL, motor racing etc. What sorts out the great athletes is the mental toughness to keep going. If I quit playing golf every time I made a mistake I'd quit 50 times a round.
