About El Al (from Wikipedia):
El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE: ELAL, Hebrew: אל על נתיבי אויר לישראל בע״מ trading as El Al (Hebrew: אל על‎, "Upwards", "To the Skies" or "Skywards", stylized as ELעל‎ALאל‎; Arabic: إل-عال), is the flag carrier of Israel. Since its inaugural flight from Geneva to Tel Aviv in September 1948, the airline has grown to serve over 50 destinations, operating scheduled domestic and international services and cargo flights within Israel, and to Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, Africa, and the Far East, from its main base in Ben Gurion Airport.

El Al is the only commercial airline to equip its planes with missile defense systems to protect its planes against surface-to-air missiles, and is considered one of the world's most secure airlines, thanks to its stringent security procedures, both on the ground and on board its aircraft. Although it has been the target of many attempted hijackings and terror attacks, only one El Al flight has ever been hijacked; that incident did not result in any fatalities.

Boeing 787 (from Wikipedia):
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is an American wide-body jet airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. After dropping its Sonic Cruiser project, Boeing announced the conventional 7E7 on January 29, 2003, focused on efficiency. The program was launched on April 26, 2004, with an order for 50 from All Nippon Airways (ANA), targeting a 2008 introduction. On July 8, 2007, the prototype was rolled out without major systems and experienced multiple delays until its maiden flight on December 15, 2009. Type certification was received in August 2011 and the first 787-8 was delivered in September 2011 before entering commercial service on October 26, 2011, with ANA.

At launch, Boeing targeted 20% less fuel burn than replaced aircraft like the Boeing 767, carrying 200 to 300 passengers on point-to-point routes up to 8,500 nmi (16,000 km), a shift from hub-and-spoke travel. The twinjet is powered by General Electric GEnx or Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 high-bypass turbofans. It is the first airliner with an airframe primarily made of composite materials and makes extensive use of electrical systems. Externally, it is recognizable by its four-window cockpit, raked wingtips, and noise-reducing chevrons on its engine nacelles.

When you mentioned anti-missile tech., I knew immediately that it would be El Al!

I flew El Al about 10 years ago from Newark. The security was unbelievable. After regular screening they have their own much tougher screening where they ask all kinds of questions. My friend was pulled for additional screening because a box of dominoes in her luggage looked suspicious. They made her go through her luggage. They wouldn't touch it. On the way back to the US I was pulled because of some books I had packed in a stack. They told me I should have spread them around. They were polite but very serious.

I appreciate that you commented on the softness of the seat. It’s not often mentioned and I find it super important in determining how comfortable the bed is. Hard seats have prevented me from sleeping in business class at times and it has ruined the experience. So thanks for the info!

I want you to know that I'll likely never fly anywhere again as my circumstances just don't allow for that, but I love watching your vlogs. So I'm living vicariously through you. Keep flying and I'll keep watching. Always be safe young man!! Enjoy your life, I'll be watching!!

I flew El Al way back in the 90s as a kid and back then they served breakfast with bunch of chocolate. Aka kid me was so happy. Obviously it has been many years but it's nice to see someone reviewing this airline and to know it is still a good airline after all these years.

My friend flew with this carrier. A very orthodox man was seated next to her and had a fit, saying she was unclean (her period) even though she went through the menopause years before. He would not sit next to any woman and insisted he was upgraded to first. The cabin crew were having none of it. They absolutely would not upgrade him no matter how loud he got. Eventually a fellow passenger offered to swap seats so he was sitting with two men.

The cabin aesthetic is absolutely beautiful!

Best El AL joke coming up.

An El AL flight attendant is serving dinner. She asks the passenger in a strict and direct voice with an Israeli accent:
-Do you want dinner!?
-What are my choices? The passenger asks.

-YES or NO!!! 🤣🤣

As it turns out, the El Al 787 has slightly different seats than United. It is equipped with the Recaro CL6790. The products are very similar and I like both seats!

There actually is a priority line for security if you are flying business class. It's to the right of the regular security line.

Sorry Dan, in spite of they’re defensive capabilities, world’s safest airline is not a title you can award to El Al, after all in 1992 a 747 crashed into an apartment building in Amsterdam. Qantas might be a more deserving recipient of this award with zero crashes in its history

I specially enjoy that you present the positive and negative points. Very honest.

Nice review. It's not the same seat as Polaris though - Polaris seats are made by Safran/Zodiac Aerospace. El Al uses the Recaro CL6710 seat model in Business class.

It’s actually a different seat from Polaris. This are made by Recaro and are the same as the ones Tap uses. The United ones are by zodiac.
